We have almost completed our first unit of PE!
This week the JK's & SK's played cooperative games that involved balloons and allowed them to build their teamwork skills as they worked together to keep a balloon floating in the air. We also explored how to balance a bean bag on a dodgeball and seeing what would happen if we dropped both together [the bean bag shoots up in the air]. The SK's played Farm to Field which is a version of Ship to Shore that I created to fit the farm theme. Throughout the week, they were given opportunities to have free time while I called them over to talk to me one by one. I had them answer a series of questions regarding the games we have played over the past month to ensure their understanding of cooperative games and the importance of rules.
The Grade 1's, 2's, and 3's were given the opportunity to create their own cooperative games with some of their peers. We have almost completed all of the cooperative game projects which will allow us to play some of them on Monday and Tuesday when we return from the weekend!
